Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities
- Coordination with local power utility companies for new/upgrades of electrical service
- Electrical system analysis and calculations
- Design of electrical power, control, and lighting systems from service to load
- Design of fire alarm systems and low voltage systems
- Service room layout, utility conduit coordination, grounding and lighting protection
- Prepare design narrative and feasibility reports
- Electrical & fire alarm field surveys, inspections, and punchlists
- Photometric calculations using electrical AGI 32 software
- Electrical analysis using SKM Power Tools software
- Generator sizing using Cummins Power Suite or comparable software
- Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work (i.e. Autodesk Revit MEP & AutoCad)
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
- Four to Six years of relevant design experience
- NYS Professional Engineer a plus
- Intimate knowledge of New York City Building Codes and NEC
- Ability to work independently with general instructions and limited guidance from project leaders and produce the expected results
- Able meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure
- Ability to multi-task on several projects at once
- Strong communication skills and the ability to proactively collaborate during the design and construction process
- Capable of providing technical direction and on-the-job training to less experienced Electrical Engineers
