Job Description

This position is accountable for leading the continuous improvement team in order to achieve company strategic targets.  This includes planning, leading, monitoring, and reporting operational excellence projects, and continuous improvement efforts.  The position will champion, coach, and lead the overall site towards the establishment of lean culture and OPEX capabilities to accelerate profitable growth.
Primary Responsibilities:


        Assign and lead resources on projects to drive the company's strategic deployment goals.

        Maintain program management level leadership of OPEX/ME/Safety strategic deployment projects.

        Project manage a Kaizen calendar of events to improve targeted processes within the business.

        Execute specific lean production projects.

        Establish lean teams for organization.

        Mentor direct reports on OPEX principles.

        Train and guide team members working on lean processes.

        Establish goals & objectives for team members and provide timely feedback on performance.

        Accountable for all pre-during-post work for Kaizen Events and collaborate with functional leaders to secure necessary resources to complete events.

        Serve as the site Operational Excellence champion and subject matter expert.

        Provide reports identifying issues and provide recommendations to address roadblocks and areas of opportunity. 

        Team up with Operational Excellence to develop and maintain training materials.

        Work with the Operations & functional leaders to set improvement targets that tie in with the strategic direction and priorities for OPEX, develop transformation plans and create regular reporting process to track progress. Using lean principles and tools as a foundation.

Technical/Education Competencies:


   Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

   Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

        Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

        Minimum of 5 years of process improvement, lean, process re-design experience

        Minimum 3 years leadership experience

        Six Sigma certification and experience preferred
