As a Certified Medical Assistant , you play a direct role in saving the lives of our patients each day by serving our residents in a safe environment promoting long term recovery. You will partner with the Nursing staff to ensure patients receive prompt and appropriate care while at our facility.
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Valid Certified Medial Assistant certification
Responsibilities:
Works as part of the intake team to ensure clients are seen promptly.
Obtain lab work, and urine drug screens.
Observe urine samples, test onsite and/or package for laboratory.
Observes self-administration of medications including suboxone and other MAT.
Data entry and records keeping in electronic health record.
Ensure the treatment plan of the physician or Medical Director is being followed.
Giving and interpreting Mantoux Testing.
Makes appointments for clients to see physician, provide lab work and referrals for additional follow up care.
Assists in training staff in medical and health and safety matters as well as assisting in properly maintaining medical equipment.
Maintain and keep updated all medical records and documentation pertaining to the clients.
Maintain contact with community medical personnel.
Assist in the development and revision of policies and procedures for medication compliance.
Purchasing and ordering of medical supplies.
Educates clients about suboxone and vivitrol maintenance as well as side effects and provides education to clients on lab results and all medical matters.
Communicate with and access pharmacy on behalf of patient and facility.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
