Overview

The Nurse Manager supervises and manages nursing staff to ensure provision of quality client care and effective team performance to meet agency goals in accordance with our philosophy, goals, policies, mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities: Handles aspects of management, including direct supervision and mentoring of subordinate supervisory staff.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience Required:

  • Active California RN license.
  • 3 years RN experience and 1 years supervisory experience
  • BA or equivalent degree.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • BLS Certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment.
  • CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.
  • A valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance.

Background Clearance Required:

  • Must pass a background check

We will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Knowledge Required:

  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.
  • Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
  • Ability to interpret and follow Procedure manuals.

Desired:

  • 1-2 years or equivalent experience, interest in working with underserved populations and in treating Substance Use Disorders.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish.
  • Knowledge of detox from substance use disorder and commonly used medications.
  • Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma informed treatment.
  • Knowledge of Clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes etc.).

Job Requirements:

  • Evaluating patient care provided by nursing staff
  • Develop nursing staff in managing patient care
  • Educate the nursing staff on patient care
  • Perform general nursing care to patients
  • Supervising nursing and other health care staff
  • Deliver nursing care in compliance with nursing standards of care and practice
  • Promote improvement in nursing care
  • Prioritize nursing care resources to ensure patient safety
  • Supervise nursing care provided to residents
  • Ensure that nursing care documentation is
  • Assess patient needs, develop individual care plans, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care
  • Assume direct patient/family care
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients within assigned unit
  • Developing nursing care plans for individual patients
  • Ensure appropriate standards of patient care and nursing practice
  • Coordinating nursing care for optimum patient outcomes
  • Ensure quality of nursing and medical care through unit and patient care rounds
  • Improving the nursing care facilities
  • Maintaining quality of patient care
  • Ensure quality care of to nursing home residents
