As a quality engineer, you will be responsible for managing warranty-related quality processes, analyzing warranty data, and implementing corrective actions to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, customer service, and supply chain, to investigate warranty issues, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. As a quality engineer, you will be responsible for managing warranty-related quality processes, analyzing warranty data, and implementing corrective actions to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, customer service, and supply chain, to investigate warranty issues, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Administer the warranty quality management system, including documentation, tracking, and analysis of warranty claims, returns, and customer complaints.
- Analyze warranty data to identify trends, patterns, and root causes of product failures, utilizing statistical analysis tools, such as Pareto charts, trend analysis, and failure rate analysis.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action planning to address identified warranty issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
- Develop and implement preventive measures to minimize warranty claims and improve product reliability, including design changes, process improvements, and supplier corrective actions.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the investigation and resolution of complex warranty issues, coordinating activities such as failure analysis, testing, and validation.
- Monitor warranty performance metrics, such as claim rates, repair costs, and customer satisfaction, and provide regular reports and analysis to management.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to address warranty-related issues and ensure compliance with warranty terms and conditions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customer service, field service, and sales teams on warranty-related matters, including troubleshooting and resolution of customer issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warranty processes, reduce warranty costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS Engineering Degree [Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial].
- Strong technical background, with knowledge of quality management systems, statistical analysis tools, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Experience with warranty data analysis and reporting, including familiarity with warranty management software systems.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools, such as Minitab or JMP, for analyzing warranty data and identifying trends.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, prioritize tasks, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality products and services that exceed customer expectations.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems, supporting software, and large databases [experience with SAP S/4, Cority QMS, and Salesforce preferred]
- LEAN Six-Sigma training / certification preferred.
- ASQ certified quality engineer preferred.
