SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER
Onsite, located in Tamarac, FL
Overview:
The purpose the Supplier Quality Engineer role is to proactively work with our suppliers to ensure we consistently receive high quality materials on time. This includes supplier auditing, supplier development / consultation, and supplier corrective action requests. This role is also responsible for supporting internal quality and maintaining our quality management system (QMS).

Qualifications:
??? B.S. in relevant engineering field required (Mechanical, Industrial, etc.)
??? Up to 50% travel required
??? Experience visiting and auditing suppliers required
??? Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification a plus
??? Strong understanding of quality core tools (process flow, PFMEA, control plan, etc.)
??? Lean Certification a plus
??? Trained Auditor a plus
??? SAP system in a manufacturing environment a plus
??? Experience with Lean material management and SAP software a plus
??? Kaizen event leadership and coordination experience a plus

Overview:
The purpose the Supplier Quality Engineer role is to proactively work with our suppliers to ensure we consistently receive high quality materials on time. This includes supplier auditing, supplier development / consultation, and supplier corrective action requests. This role is also responsible for supporting internal quality and maintaining our quality management system (QMS).
Responsibilities:
- Works directly with engineering to understand raw material requirements for new product development (NPD) items
- Collaborating with purchasing and engineering supporting supplier development processes
- Manage PPAP process supporting changes to existing product and onboarding new products
- Works with inspection team to inspect / document first articles as required
- Performs capability analysis (Cp / Cpk) to ensure the supplier and / or internal process will be able to consistently supply us with good product
- Effectively communicates problem statement to supplier through the use of the supplier corrective action request (SCAR) process and form including all pertinent information (purchase orders, PART numbers, quantities, etc.)
- Monitors SCAR list weekly and follows up weekly with any supplier with a past due open SCAR
- Offers support and resources to ensure the supplier performs a thorough root cause investigation addressing the SCARs problem statement
- Ensures that corrective action(s) stemming from a SCAR are validated in the next visit / audit of the supplier???s operation
- Holds quarterly phone calls with key quality contacts at critical suppliers
- Offers resources, information, and some training on LEAN / Six-Sigma tools
- Recommends equipment / processes to enable our suppliers to comply with our requirements
- Analyzes suppliers from a weakness standpoint and communicates what is required for continued growth
- Documents all suggestions, support, and results in a quarterly supplier report for critical suppliers
- Works with Production Supervisors and Director of Quality Control and Continuous Improvement to prioritize projects
- Ensures supplier audit checklist is current and relevant to fabricator certification clauses
- Creates annual supplier audit schedule based on documented audit frequency parameters and critical supplier list. Groups audits by location to reduce travel requirements
- Builds effective relationships with key quality personnel at critical suppliers
- Confirms corrective actions resulting from SCARs have been implemented and sustained
- Communicates audit reports and supports implementation of corrective action addressing observations and findings
- Supports development and growth and alerts business if a supplier does not have the necessary capability and or capacity to supply current and future demand
- Confirms that suppliers are complying with the organization's Enterprises Product Change Notification (PCN) Policy
- Maintains all supplier quality standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms, checklists, standard work, and any other associated documentation
- Creates and maintains quantitative, clear, and achievable metrics that fall in line with the Quality Control and Continuous Improvement Department goals and objectives
- Maintains, updates, and integrates QMS software at organization facilities as required
- Maintains and presents dashboards, projects, and action item lists relevant to the quality team
- Support quality inspectors with first article inspection, quality alerts, data analysis, etc. Communicate well with quality inspectors and engineering to ensure everyone is on the same page with internal and supplier changes
