Clinic Manager

Engage Partners, Inc. Auburn, ME (Onsite) Full-Time
Summary: The Clinic Manager position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their assigned clinic
This position supervises nurses and medical assistants and provides clinical consulting support to the organization's oncology clinic, and infusion sites
Their responsibilities include oversight of fiscal accountability, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, maintaining a high level of patient/family centered care and service, patient and staff satisfaction, program development, managing and developing teams
Regularly communicates with the COO and Site Lead Physician


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coaches and leads healthcare team members in the performance of patient care procedures and processes with a focus on safety and competence
    Provides coaching, counseling and discipline, as needed
  • Approves and maintains timecards for direct reports
  • Ensures the clinic is appropriately staffed at all times
  • Delegates to and supports clinic leads in areas of responsibility
  • Interviews job applicants, makes hiring recommendations, and helps coordinate new hire orientation, ensuring all necessary training is completed
  • Ensures that resources, supplies, and materials are available for patient care
  • Represents the organization at regular meetings such as the monthly Joint Operating Committee, Cancer Committee, Survivorship Committee and others as assigned by COO
  • Assists in the development of department/division goals and works to achieve those related to the Clinic and Treatment areas
  • Role models for staff incorporating organizational initiatives and adapting to changes in clinical care, research and patient safety
  • Coordinates & participates in continuing education programs and in-services, national and regional professional organizations and community sponsored programs specific to Oncology and Hematology
  • Maintains patient care standards and assures that patient care functions, such as assessment, treatment and documentation are completed safely and effectively and in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family responses within practice protocol
  • Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice to improve patient experience
  • Ensures that clinical operations follow the organization's continuity guidelines and procedures and the smooth execution of all practice nursing policies, procedures and systems
  • Coordinates, integrates, and completes compliance reviews of new clinical SOP???s as set forth by Leadership within the organization
  • The Clinic Manager is the primary contact for clinic improvement initiatives
    The Clinic Manager may also be the point of contact for any facility-related issues
  • Maintains open and effective communication with all providers, employees and vendors
  • Works collaboratively with team members, team leads and other departments
  • Partners with the organization's healthcare team as needed to support practice initiatives and strategic objectives
  • Performs the various duties of an Oncology nurse based on daily practice needs
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, personal networking and participation in professional societies
  • Maintains clinical or site budgets and meets regularly with the COO to ensure practice compliance and alignment
  • The Clinic Manager provides clinical support for QOPI and OMH certifications, coordination of ECPS, EHR and physicians, and is an EHR Super-User
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • The Clinic Manager position has supervisory responsibilities

Education and/or Experience
  • Master???s Degree in Nursing preferred, Bachelor???s degree required (or attained within 2 years of role commencement)
  • 5 or more years nursing experience working in an oncology setting
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine
  • OCN Certification, or ability to obtain OCN Certification within 12 months of staring in the position
  • Previous management, leadership and collaborative experience
  • Strong business acumen and communication
