Job Requirements of Junior Accountant/Payroll:
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and transmit payroll through the Law School’s contracted payroll system.
• Update each payroll with tax changes, changes in personnel information, voluntary deductions; and monitors and calculates a large volume of timecards and time sheets.
• Work in conjunction with the Office of Human Resources and communicate with various departments that initiate employment, and coordinate pay dates and information to ensure accuracy of all employee/student compensation.
• Reconcile general ledger payroll transactions against forms 941 and W3.
• Responsible for maintaining and filing payroll records and other payroll department documents.
• Responsible for preparation, approval, and distribution of W-2's.
Other Accounting Functions to Assist When Needed:
• Support in preparing invoices for payment by obtaining approvals, matching purchase order numbers, and researching for possible duplicate payments.
• Support all other accounts payable functions such as entering invoices and check requisitions into Banner, proofs for accuracy, proper account coding, running processes, and printing checks.
• Assist outside Auditors with all required schedules, year-end audit requests and auditor’s questions.
Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• A minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience in accounts payable and payroll processing.
• Proven commitment to the principles of customer service/student satisfaction with the ability to work with diverse groups and constituents.

Junior Accountant/Payroll
A prominent law school in the heart of Manhattan is looking for an exceptional individual to serve as their new Junior Accountant role!
It is a full-time, onsite position that's Mon-Fri from the hours of 9am-5pm. The address is W Broadway Ave, New York, NY 10013.
The listed salary is between $35/hr.-$40/hr.($72,800-$83,200 yearly) along with a full benefits package.
This is a Temp-to-Perm position!!
