Job Summary:
The Senior Director of IT Operations is responsible for the strategic execution, management, and optimization of all hospital information technology infrastructure and operations. This role ensures the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-performing IT services that support patient care, hospital operations, and enterprise innovation. The Senior Director collaborates with clinical, administrative, and technical leaders to align IT operations with organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.

The Senior Director collaborates with clinical, administrative, and technical leaders to align IT operations with organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the CDIO on strategic planning and execution of IT operations across data centers, networks, end-user computing, and enterprise applications
- Partner with the CDIO to develop the hospital's infrastructure technology roadmap supporting clinical, operational, and digital transformation goals
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs aligned to service excellence and uptime

Operational Management
- Oversee 24/7 IT operations, including service desk, infrastructure, network, data center, and device management
- Implement ITIL-based service management practices to ensure consistency and accountability
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs) for hardware, software, and managed services
- Lead system monitoring, performance optimization, and capacity planning across all technology platforms

Team Leadership
- Direct, mentor, and develop IT managers and staff to promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Define and execute workforce development plans aligned with emerging hospital technologies and operational demands

Compliance & Continuity
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards
- Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) readiness, including incident response and failover testing

Financial & Project Oversight
- Develop and manage budgets for IT operations, including capital planning, cost control, and ROI analysis
- Prioritize and execute technology initiatives through disciplined project management and governance processes
- Evaluate emerging technologies to improve efficiency, reliability, patient-centered outcomes

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required, master's Degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 5 years in healthcare operations management
- Proven experience managing complex healthcare environments

Technical Competencies
- Deep knowledge of ITIL, and healthcare operations best practices
- Experience with supporting Meditech
- Strong understanding of network architecture, virtualization, storage, cloud, and identity management
